Dogan Hasol worked as the Secretary General of the Istanbul Branch of the Turkish Chamber of Architects between1965-66. During the period from 1966 to 1969, was the editor-in-chief of “Mimarlık” the monthly review of the Turkish Chamber of Architects.

In 1968, established Yapi-Endustri Merkezi (Turkish Building Centre) with a group of friends. In 1978, was elected to the Executive Committee of the International Union of Building Centres (UICB). He served as the President from 1989 to 1995, and in 1995 elected Honorary Member of UICB. In the meantime, he served on juries of numerous architectural competitions, in addition to receiving many awards and honorable mentions in architectural competitions. Among his literary credits :
 
 
1. An Encyclopedic Dictionary of Architecture in Turkish (12th Edition).
2. A trilingual Dictionary for Architecture + Building Terms (English / French / Turkish) (3rd Edition).
3. A bilingual Dictionary published in Paris : "Architecture et Batiment / Architecture and Building".
4. A Dictionary of Architecture and Building (English-Turkish/Turkish-English) (5th Edition).
5. A three-volume collection of his articles published in newspapers and reviews.
 
He has also since 1973 been the publisher of YAPI, a monthly review of culture, arts and architecture.
 
He was honored in 1998 and 1999 and 2012 successively by three universities (Istanbul Technical University, Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul Kultur University) with the degree of “Dr.h.c.” and in 2000 by the Turkish Chamber of Architects for his contribution to the development of the profession of Architecture.

Hayzuran Hasol, worked as the Chief Officer for the Region of Istanbul at the Town Planning Department of the Municipality of Istanbul at the onset of her professional career. Between 1964-69 she worked as an assistant at the Isik Engineering and Architecture School. During the period between 1969-71, she served as a project architect at the Building Department of the University of Ankara. From 1971 to 1985. she was a teaching professor at Mimar Sinan University. Some of the many designs she created were published in magazines and were included in exhibitions. She received several awards and honorable mentions in the design competitions she entered.

Ayse Hasol Erktin is a partner at HAS Architects Ltd., one of the leading design firms in Turkey. While at HAS, she has designed and coordinated the design process of various housing, office, healthcare and hospitality projects, including the Swissotel Grand Efes, Crystal Tower and Anadolu Health Center, all of which were designed in coordination with a global team of specialists. Under her leadership, HAS formed project based associations with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Inc. (SOM), REES Associates, Inc., NBBJ, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and Llewelyn Davies Yeang.

A graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Ayse Hasol Erktin received her MBA from Bogazici University and BS in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University.

Ayse Hasol Erktin served as the Chairperson of ULI (Urban Land Institute) Turkey Executive Committee between 2015-2017. She was a board member at Istanbul Professional Architects Association between 2012-2014, and at Turkish Green Building Association between 2011-2013, and served as the president of Istanbul Project Management Association (PMI, Istanbul Potential Chapter) in 2000-2001, and the vice president of Harvard Alumni Club of Turkey between 1997-2002.

She is a BREEAM Assessor and an EDAC Accredited Individual. Erktin’s writing and speaking focus on the management of creativity and value of design.
